Hundreds of Inauguration Rioters Face Severe Punishment for Their Criminal Behavior

A group called #DisruptJ20 may be single handedly responsible for all the riots and violence that broke out in D.C. during inauguration week. The chaos was overwhelming at our nation’s capital and many people were endangered due to their acts.

Thanks to Washington, D.C.’s felony rioting statute, 230 anti-Trump protesters will face up to 10 years in jail for rioting.

The protesters were arrested Friday and appeared in court Saturday, according to a BuzzFeed report. Anti-Trump protests turned violent, with black-clad rioters throwing rocks at police, smashing windows, and setting a car on fire. Police responded with stun grenades, pepper spray, tear gas, and rubber bullets.

The Post also reported that a majority of the arrested protesters were not residents of Washington, D.C., Maryland, or Virginia. Tom Massey, 32, of Philadelphia was among those arrested, and he told The Post, “I think there should have been more violence yesterday.”

Me Here.....This is great news.  They rioters need to be punished.

They have a right to voice their views in many ways.  But the moment they start to harm others either physically or by destroying the property of others, they are criminals and need to be treated that way.

A felony conviction and time served in jail or prison will be a stern warning to others on what is and is not acceptable in voicing one's views.

Violence is not protected speech.  It is criminal conduct.
