"...what have we got—a Republic or a Monarchy?” “A Republic, if you can keep it

As someone who was raised by the "Greatest Generation" of parents, my siblings and I were taught at a young age what a privilege it was to live in the United States. I believe it is still very much a privilege but we have to do all we can to educate our fellow citizens on what the key idea was behind our Constitution, LIMITED GOVERNMENT!!!!

We have certainly gotten away from that but more and more Americans are waking up to the fact that, regardless of the political party they belong to, we have to put what is best for our great country first! This means being willing to sacrifice in the short run for what is best for all of us in the long run. The course we are on now is very short-sighted and tied into instant gratification.

It is not piling on more and more debt on the backs of our children and grandchildren. The greatest generation believed firmly, as a group, in self-reliance, helping their neighbors and a belief in this wonderful nation. They saw first hand as they went overseas in World War II how devastating totalitarian dictatorships could be and the damage they did to their own nations and others.

We must carry the torch forward of freedom and limited government. Big government is one of the most inefficient ways to get things done and the financial costs of this has gotten rediculously out of control!

Our Founding Fathers knew what they had to do when they formed our country and that is create a limited central government. We need to dial back this unsustainable growth unless we want to turn the U.S. into the next Greece!

I appreciate all that your wonderful organization and the others I am a part of! Together, we can regain the greatness that the "Greatest Generation" left us!
