According to Maxine Waters, 700,000,000,000 people will be harmed if Senate Republicans repeal and replace Obamacare.
During a Wednesday evening appearance on MSNBC, the California congresswoman made the wild claim while referencing what she believes will be the impact on Kentucky.
Chris Hayes asked Waters about how the White House can claim that the bill can cut costs and increase coverage and Waters replied, “Well, that’s just not true.
“Take, for example, the state of Kentucky. Almost one-third of those people in that state are covered by Medicaid, and so they’re talking about eliminating 700 billion,” she said, looking off camera, seemingly seeking confirmation, “in, uh, Trumpcare bill.”
She concluded, “And so that’s no way that they can say that they’ll do more coverage than Obamacare, and so I don’t really know what they’re talking about.”
The Congressional Budget Office claims 22 million people — not 700 billion — will lose health care coverage if Obamacare is repealed, CNBC reports.
It would seem Waters doesn’t know what she’s talking about, either.
Me Here.....Maxine is lying again! But she can't open her mouth without lying. If her voters were informed, she would be history. I doubt she could get a counter job at KFC or even make change. She should be a national laughing stock!
Plus one can't really trust the CBO either. Congress has mandated that the CBO only use STATIC scoring. That is always way off base. If the CBO was to be allowed to use dynamic scoring, we would have a number that could mean something. Static Scoring is as off base as Maxine.
